Denise Kinney - Guest Artist

When I paint, I think of nothing else. I am placed and transported in whatever it is that is transforming on my paper, whether that is walking amongst the trees, sitting on a rock, or wading in the water. It is meditative.

I started with acrylic paint and transitioned to watercolor and gouache. Gouache is similar to watercolor except that it is opaque with a higher pigment. This allows me to have some of the result and/or characteristics of acrylic along with my watercolor. I especially enjoy trying new techniques on different types of paper.

I am a resident of Biddeford, Maine and have the beauty of the coast, forest and mountains as my everlasting subjects to paint
