Anne-François de Sérilly
Born in 1966, Anne-François de Serilly was only 25 when he chose to abandon the path that had been laid out for him, and embraced life as an artist.
During his first years of apprenticeship, he studied the great masters of 17th and 18th century painting. He patiently imitated their every brushstroke, anxious to absorb their techniques and perfect his drawing skills. Inspired by the classics, Anne-François leaves nothing to chance when he paints, but rather, plans each composition meticulously. Thanks to his many years of experience, Anne-François is capable of capturing moments and making them into heirlooms. His favorite themes include card games, dance, circus acrobatics, high fashion and everything maritime. His work belies a certain kinship with Art Deco. Anne-François is always in search of geometric simplifications and daring perspectives.
